Introduction to One Stroke Painting
Saturday May 24
1:00 -3:00
$30
Instructor: Paul Doxsee, OSCI. Paul is an experienced painter and painting instructor and has completed the necessary training to be certified by Donna Dewberry as a qualified instructor of the One Stroke painting technique.
One Stroke was developed by a Florida housewife and mother, Donna Dewberry, who can be seen promoting and teaching the style on PBS and HSN television channels. One Stroke is a multiloading style of decorative painting using acrylic paints. What does this mean to a painting beginner or an experienced painter that wants to learn new techniques?
- One stroke is about decorative painting – making pretty pictures you can be proud of fast and with a minimum of training
- Multiloading means learning a technique that allows you to paint with multiple colors on the same brush at the same time. A neat and fast way to accomplish shading and depth.
- Acrylic paint means soap and water clean-up, less expensive paints and brushes then oil painting and fast drying time. Acrylic paints are flexible and the same One Stroke technique can be applied on paper, canvas, wood, glass and fabric.
The beginning two hour One Stroke class at Art Village will cover:
- An introduction to decorative painting and basic painting design
- Introduction to the use and care of brushes
- Learning to multiload brushes and use acrylic paints
- Basic One Stroke stroke techniques needed to paint the class subject
